Supervising and reporting the material testing program to assess the integrity of the 120^th years old masonry dam (Old Aswan Dam) using various samples extracted from different depths and locations along the dam and navigation lock’s bodies. Different traditional (e.g. compressive strength) and unconventional tests (e.g. sorptivity test) were applied to the building rock and binding mortar of the dam. In addition, complete investigative program was designed and conducted to assess the suitability of different rehabilitation grouting mixes and the corresponding tests were implanted (e.g. rheological properties and leaching resistance).
